Show Horses

What can I say? It's the "Princess" AKA; "Boots or Booties". We call her a "California" palomino. You know, a blonde beach girl with a nice tan! Sherry raised this great mare from a foal. By our prior stallion, Days Tuff Gold, and out of a great mare Tivios Pleasure, Boots was destined to be here for her life. As with any horse business, we have horses for sale, and Boots was no different. Soon after she was born, we had a party interested and wanted to buy her. They were NFQHA members and we set a date at a NFQHA show in Goldendale, Washington to bring her to them. We weaned her at four months, loaded her with Dazzle and off we went. The WHOLE trip Sherry was moody and said she hoped they did not like Boots. Sherry really thought there was something special about her. As luck would have it, the woman's "trainer" determined this weanling just wasn't correct enough. (Dave takes a big sigh of relief). So we haul her back home and Sherry went to work making her the great all around show horse she is. We gave her the nick name "boots" early, because as a baby, she had a habit of doing a "fly by" and kicking at us, buckets, water troughs, and dogs. After she was weaned she seemed to stop the habit. I nick named her "Princess" because she was so "pampered". Anyway we were walking through her field to put the dogs up. Sherry said, "let's call her Cocoa, with that color it fits". About two minutes after that statement, the now yearling, did a fly by and kicked the water bucket we had set on the ground. So Boots or Booties has remained one of her barn names. I still call her Princess, it also fits!

HR ALBERTA EINSTEIN  (NAME TO BE CHANGED TO SURPRISE REVOLUTION)

We are happy to have purchased "Surprise" from the Legacy Reining Breeders Sale. This 2 year old filly is by Einsteins Revolution (Earner of over $330,000 and 25 AQHA points in reining) and out of Bay Lady Surprise by Jerry Lees Surprise. The dam is a producer of a $17,000 NRHA earner. Her pedigree is loaded with NRHA money earners. We believe that Einsteins Revolution is the "next big thing" in the reining world. She will soon be in training at Ollie Galligan Performance Horses.

Sail On Karen
1996 Sorrel Mare

We acquired Bailey to help Sherry into the reining world. Bailey has been shown as a reiner and has brought many riders, new to reining, up into the reining world. She is an AQHA point earner and has been shown quite a bit at NRHA events, especially youth events. She is by Ponita Pistol who was a producer of cutters, reiners, cow horses, and halter horse earners. She is out of Topsails Peppy, a producer, who was by Topsail Cody, one of the greatest stallions in the reining and cow horse industry. A nice minded mare, who has been a pleasure to be around. 2012 Ranch News

In stride with our new business model, Sherry and I decided to purchase Noble Tuff Trickster, a 2011 colt, by our old stallion Days Tuff Gold and out of Noble Cody, also a mare we owned in the past. We knew that this combo has produced some nice horses for us. The photo above is Day 1 with "Trick". The prior owner just did not have enough time for him, and when we picked him out he had not had much handling. Sherry spent about 40 minutes in his pen just working him to gain respect and get him to lead. We were able to get him to lead and load in the trailer for the ride home. See his bio page for updates on his journey from "spooky" yearling to a well behaved horse. Sherry uses the Clinton Anderson Method to train her horses. Check out "Trick's page" for his training status.
